Israel-Lebanon Maritime Deal: Analysis

Biden just recently met with Israeli President Herzog and he gave Herzog accolades over the maritime border deal that is expected to be finalized on Thursday, October 27. 

This is a very significant news story. This border decision now grants Israel the Karish natural gas field without any further dispute from Lebanon. Israel has now begun natural gas production from the Karish gas field as of Oct 26, 2022, just ahead of the final signing of the border agreement. The natural gas will flow to Cypress, then Greece, and then up to Italy. Europe is in desperate need of energy right now, as the cold winter approaches, and energy prices have spiked to an all time high due to the destruction of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines.

Ezekiel 38 tells us about a coalition of nations from the “far north” that will gather together and come against Israel with a vast army:

“You will ascend, coming like a storm, covering the land like a cloud, you and all your troops and many peoples with you.” Ezekiel 38: 9

What will be their motivation? Why will this coalition of nations from the north band together and descend upon Israel with a massive army? The answer is found in Ezekiel 38:10-12:

To take plunder and booty

Thus says the Lord God: “On that day it shall come to pass that thoughts will arise in your mind, and you will make an evil plan: “You will say, ‘I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will go to a peaceful people, who dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates’—“to take plunder and to take booty, to stretch out your hand against the waste places that are again inhabited, and against a people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, who dwell in the midst of the land. Ezekiel 38: 10-12

What are the facts on the ground right now? What plunder and spoil might the Gog/Magog coalition be after?

The plunder that they might go after is the Karish Natural gas field.

Could the Karish gas field be the “trigger” for the Gog/Magog war, the motivation for WHY the Gog/Magog coalition invades Israel?  In light of recent events, with the recent destruction of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines, I believe it could very well be the case.
